DuraCoat Live Edge River Table Tops are customised pieces of functional art that merge raw, organic elements with modern liquid aesthetics. They are designed to preserve the natural contours of high-quality hardwoods by filling the gaps with industrial-grade, crystal-clear or colored resins.
Design and Aesthetics
- Customised Live Edge Wood: Slabs are carefully chosen for their unique grain patterns, knots, burls, and natural edges. The live bark is stripped away, and the natural contours of the wood are positioned inward to frame the "river."
- Dynamic River Flows: Liquid deep-pour resin is cast between the slabs. Colors range from deep oceanic blues and shimmering metallics to crystal-clear or smoky finishes that create an illusion of flowing water.
- 3D Depth & Textures: Artisans utilize multi-layered pours, metallic pigments, and pearlescent powders to build visual dimension and custom texturing within the channel.
Manufacturing & Craftsmanship
- Wood Stabilization & Sealing: Slabs are kiln-dried and heavily sealed with initial coats of tabletop resin. This process stabilizes the organic fibers and minimizes trapped oxygen to guarantee a bubble-free final cast.
- Flawless High-Gloss Polishing: After curing, the entire surface is flattened, routed, and aggressively sanded across varying grits. The final flood coat is wet-sanded and polished to a rock-hard, high-gloss "liquid glass" finish.
- Structural Durability: Built to withstand heavy daily use, the premium epoxy resin used is heavily UV-resistant to combat ambering, heat-resistant, and completely waterproof.
Customizable Styles Available
- Traditional River: Natural wooden edges face inward with the flowing colored resin dividing the center.
- Reverse River: A central live edge wood slab sits suspended in a surrounding block of clear or tinted epoxy.
